How are the Agua Azul waterfalls formed?

They are formed by the junction of three small rivers: Shumulja, Otolun, and Tulija. These rivers flow through the jungle of Chiapas. They are famous for the color of their turquoise blue water. This unusual color is due to the limestone beds of the Chiapas rivers.
